Happy New Years Eve!
I was hoping to go play basketball this morning, but unfortunately (or maybe luckily) my phone died and so my alarm didn’t go off. Bummer!
Mom and Dad are here and so far, things have gone pretty well. It’s hard at times because it seems like Dad is always looking for things to criticize. We found out from him that last night, when they got here and the babysitter was here, he offered her an ice cream sandwich and another treat. When she said no, he ask her if she was anorexic. What the crap? I find it funny that one of his “mottos” is “The Less Said the Better.” However, he is becoming known to say things that just aren’t that necessary.
One thing I’ve realized more and more is Dad and Mom are both getting old. Dad is 74 and Mom is 69 now. It’s hard to say whether they don’t realize what they’re saying or they just don’t care.
I am grateful they have good health.
I’m grateful they’ve been a good example and have been able to serve in the temple.
I’m grateful they can be here for New Years, which makes it more fun for the kids.
I’m grateful we’ve been able to relax, watch football, and have fun together.
I’m grateful to be living another day in recovery. Today we went to the grocery store and there were tons of people. I said a prayer and ask for help to keep my eyes up. Like always, He was there to help me and I was able to keep my chin up.
I’m grateful to be working the steps of recovery.
I’m grateful to feel the love and support of Becky.
Hasta manana!
Nate
