Day 9 – 10:03 p.m. – Wow, this may be my earliest post yet! It was a pretty good day today considering the status of things at work. I followed what I feel was an answer to a prayer today and decided to lay off a different person first. I’ve felt sick about the whole "lay off" thing. I’ve learned through all this that I must ALWAYS be grategul for my job and blessings.
Here are ways I feel Heavenly Father blessed my life today:
- In our Monday training I opened things up and let all the employees ask questions about what’s happening. I admit that I don’t have all the answers. I fell, through some recent experiences, that Heavenly Father has helped me understand a bit more how to empathize with my fellow employees. Empathy is related to charity and charity is the pure love of Christ.
- An enjoyable family night with Becky, Caleb and Madi. We went on a long walk around the neighborhood, talked about how the day went. When we got home we then took a small bike ride with the kids around the block. It’s do fun to watch Madi pedal so hard – we got to get it on video. Caleb flys around on his little two wheeler (still has on the training wheels – coming off soon). Then we came back to discuss fire safety and what happens in an emergency. Caleb learned his address and that, if there is a big problem, he should call 911. Let’s hope he never has to.
- A good day of not being idle. I was pretty anxiously engaged in good causes today – at least it seems that way.
- Chance to kick the soccer ball around with Caleb while holding Madi on my shoulders. Playing with the kids, even if it’s for a little bit, is a super important thing to do I feel.
I’m excited to get the talks uploaded to my iPod tonight or tomorrow so I can start listening to them in my car on the way to work. I feel this will be a great way to start the day on the right foot. One thing I really need to work on lately is a positive attitude. The negativity is contagious and really isn’t good for anything. Asking questions is one thing – bashing on the whole thing is another.
I love this tradition I’m forming of writing in my journal.
