Day 27 – Happy Mother’s Day

By N

Day 27 – 12:06 a.m. – Yeah, it’s too late again dang it!  I’ve GOT to get better at this.  Getting up earlier would be so much more healthy and safe than staying up until wee hours of the night.

Mother’s Day was great.  I got Becky a new decorative wall clock for our main living room, which she really liked.  We (the kids and I) also got her a digital clock and a $15 pre-paid card for iTunes.

We also did a lot of work yesterday on the master bedroom – got the book shelves put together, hung pictures, etc.  It’s really looking nice.

Church was really good today!  Caleb sang with the primary for Mother’s Day and we talked about honoring the prophet in Young Men’s.  I got to go home teaching with Sam Pedro, which was really great.  We visit the Folkman’s and Brienholts.  We shared a lesson on "Unselfish Service" by Dallin H. Oaks.

When I go on my next mission with Becky, I want SERVICE to be one of the main themes.  It was interesting, when Dad Schmidt was here he talked about a couple that is serving in Fon du Lac.  They have done a lot of great work and brought a lot of people back to the Gospel because of their relentless service.  The thing about service is that it’s so much like how Christ ministered to the people.  It’s not about being seen of others – it’s about Mosiah 2:17 – "…when ye are in the service of your fellow man, ye are really in the service of your God."

I have a strong testimony of service – which makes me want to write a letter or call Ana and Enrique in Lo Espejo.  I really hope they are doing well.  I should have them set up a Skype account so we can talk more regularly.

Well, I love my wife.  She’s such a huge blessing in my life.  I strive to always be worthy of her companionship and treat her with honor and respect.

Until tomorrow!

Nate
