About

My name is Nate M. I started this “online journal” in October of 2008. It’s been a great help in my life to keep me balanced, to think about why I do what I do, and to set spiritual and temporal goals. I use it as I prepare lessons (and as a way to test SEO for keywords I’m writing about).

It’s also been a place for me to share what I believe about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Atonement.

I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God’s Church restored to the earth in preparation for the second coming of the Savior. I know that the people in the Church are not perfect, but I know that the doctrines and teachings and ordinances of the Church are perfect and are given to us by a loving Father who wants all of us to keep His commandments in order to find the most joy in this life.

I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and works together with the Holy Bible to help us follow Christ’s teachings.

I know that it was translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that he had the plates, that he did everything he could to follow what God asked him to do.

I know that as I read the Book of Mormon and Bible I get closer to Heavenly Father and feel the Spirit in my life. I know that with that relationship, I am protected from the “fiery darts of the adversary”.

I know that mission work is one of the things I’ve been sent here to do. I love sharing the gospel with “those who want to know the truth”. I want to be a missionary, and serve and help the Lord my entire life.

I invite anyone who is reading this blog, who has questions, or who wonders what Mormons really are, to contact me. Let’s talk. I’ve had quite a bit of experience, especially lately, answering questions about what I believe.

UPDATED: 4.9.12

Wow, I’m glad I started this coming up on 4 years ago.

When I use this “online journal” consistently, things just go better. When I slack or stay up late or become fearful, things don’t go as well.

I’m happy to start another day and submit my will to God. Until tomorrow!

Nate

10.20.08 – Just getting started with my “online journal”.  I look forward to using this site often to record thoughts, feelings, experiences, and the like.   I may even add pictures and fun things here too.

Sincerely,

Nate

2.11.10 – I started a new program this week where I post the questions from the program on a daily basis (actually schedule them ahead of time to post daily). I then have subscribed to my own posts via email that I get each morning to remind me to answer the question for that day. This will be at least a 5 day a week process from now and ongoing. I feel it will help me get in good habits to work the program consistently over time. I’ll be interested to look at my answers a year, two years from now and see the progress I’ve made with the help of my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I feel so good about understand steps 1-3 now and working hard to submit my will to God by praying consistently as I need help to escape temptation, by making time to read something from the scriptures each day, and by striving to serve my wife and family and/or someone else each day. This simple formula really is the key to happiness and strength.

Sincerely,

Nate
