Day 22 – 1:08 a.m. – The time will tell you alot about my day – been better days.
I’ve been flirting with disaster tonight – trying to get a lot done but then "idling" along and wasting time.
My next 30 day challenge will be an adendum to this one – write in my journal for 30 days and base each post on a scripture or maybe one of the twelve steps in the program.
I’ve really liked giving myself a 30 day challenge – something to hold me somewhat accountable. I feel if I can do this with journal writing, I can do it with other things that are important too. Here are a few:
- Reading scriptures
- Going to bed by 10:30 p.m.
- Getting up at 6:00 a.m.
- Exercising
- Not watching TV
- Reading a good book
- Playing with my kids
- Doing a small act of service for Becky
- Not yelling at or getting frustrated with the kids
- Recognizing something positive that others do around me and thanking them for it.
These are 10 things that come to mind now. I need to make sure to reference this post so I can come back to them. I really like the question: What is a habit you’d like to form? and then tying that to a 30 day challenge where you proactively strive to form positive habits.
We had a good family night tonight – talked about "Chore Charts" and went for a great bike ride. Caleb is getting so fast on his Rattlesnake big-boy bike. It’s fun to watch him grow up although it’s really quick. We also kicked the soccer ball arond a bit and Caleb and Madi showed me the "rolley-polley" bugs they’d caught on a walk they went on earlier in the day.
It’s really fun to get out and do things with Becky and the kids. Not only is it good exercise, but it’s also fun to be together and talk about things.
Becky is moving right along with the baby. We feel it kicking more and more all the time. Wow – three will be a big leap.
I’m grateful for this 30 Day Challenge. Although I wasn’t perfect tonight in fighting my urges to be idle, I did avoid going in to some things that I shouldn’t have because I finally restrained myself by remembering my journal writing. I pray that I can continue to improve and be true to myself and my beliefs.
Until later today 🙂

I’ve found that the virtual chore chart works for me. I use a site called Handipoints chore charts to make printables and it’s really been fun so far!
