Becoming as a child

By Raul

“The natural man is an enemy of God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and puteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord…” (Mosiah 3:19)

Why can you trust Heavenly Father and the Savior as you submit your life to Them?

I can trust them because whatever they ask me to do will be for my benefit–although I don’t see it that way. They are just as, or more, interested in my recovery than I am.

I can trust them because they don’t give up on me even when I do give up on myself.

I can trust them because I love them and They love me.

I can trust them because they are my last hope.

Great insight Raul! I agree 110% that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are more interested in our recovery than sometimes even WE are. They see the end from the beginning and know our eternal potential.

I told my sponsor today that I’m scared to give my will completely over to God for fear that I’ll take it back. I know, if I truly submit my will to God, that my “burdens will be made light” and that I will be truly happy. The world’s message is not that way though – the world is all about “eat, drink and be merry” (aka – do whatever makes you feel good whenever you want).

Keep up the consistency in working the steps!

I just found this scripture too that I think ties right in with the “natural man” scripture you shared:

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man (1 Cor. 2:14-15)
