Today has been a good day so far. I woke up at 6:50 a.m. and headed on a hell-of-a-bike ride… I just got back about an hour ago with my friend and neighbor Rory. He used to live in Woodland Hills so we went on probably the hardest bike ride I’ve ever been on (next to the 50 miler for Scouts a few years ago).
The total trip today was about 21 miles but the first half of the ride was uphill, some parts were really, really uphill.
We went to the very top of the Woodland Hills area, turned around, and then FLEW down – probably hitting 40 mph or so on the way down.
It was invigorating.
It was tiring.
It was CRAZY.
But it’s caused me to reflect now on how exercise can be such a great way to release, to think about life, and to just enjoy nature.
I’m grateful Rory has invited me to go biking with him. I think this has been our 3rd or 4th trip together. Our first was with family up to the horses; then we went with Nate C to the cross up by the reservoir. After that we went to Lookout Point on the other side of the reservoir; then today.
So, that’s all I wanted to share.
I’m still struggling with my challenges but today is a new day.
