What I’ve Noticed This Week

By N

I’ve realized again this week that if I’m not making time for spiritual things, the "fiery darts of the adversary" come at me more.

I’ve been more tempted this week to browse around on Facebook, to stumble around on stumbleupon, and to accidentally see stuff on the internet that I shouldn’t see.  I haven’t seen anything but it’s the INTENT, the desires of my heart, that I worry about.

When I’m really making time for spiritual things, to give my soul the spiritual nutrition it needs, I’m closer to Heavenly Father.

Interesting, "I Need Thee Every Hour" just came on the radio:

I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord…

Oh bless me now my Savior, I come to thee.

Stay thou near by, temptations lose their power,

When thou art nigh.

I need thee, oh I need thee, every hour I need thee,

Oh bless me now my Savior, I come to thee.

I need thee in joy or pain, come quickly and abide

Or life is vain.

This is the purpose of the Atonement of Jesus Christ – I need Him every hour to bless me, to protect me, to help me fight off the fiery darts of the adversary, to help me overcome Satan, to help me become who I need to be.

The gospel is true – the next song that came on is "Don’t Forget to Pray!" There is no such thing as cooincidence!

Sincerely,

Nate
