Today was a really fun day in Park City. Beck and I got to sleep in – which is a new thing since usually the kids come in to pounce on us pretty early.
We then went to breakfast at a local place here in Midway (we’re on a Yelp kick where we look up places to eat based on Yelp reviews – then when I get there I take pictures and we write a review on the place). The place we went was only so so, but it was fine.
After breakfast we came back and went to the pool and hot tub. It was fun to sit in the warm water out in the snow covered surroundings. We talked to some people there and found out that the lady had just got back from her mission to Nauvoo. She was a site missionary and had been there for the last 18 months. She didn’t know Mom and Dad for sure but would probably recognize them.
We came back from the pool to watch the Packer game, only to find out that it wasn’t on TV; then we spent the next little while trying to figure out how to watch it online. We found a place but it wasn’t the best due to WiFi issues. We watched it as much as we could and luckily, the Packers won and Rogers had a decent game.
We then got ready and headed to Park City to do a bit of shopping (I know, vacation rules). We found a new computer bag for me and a purse for Becky. Then we found some shoes for the kids.
After doing a bit of shopping, we headed to downtown Park City and found a great place to eat. It was French style: I had duck and Beck had a Bison burger. It was a really fun place to eat – one that we would go back to for sure.
Overall, I felt really good about the day. I submitted my will to God and had good talks with Becky about a variety of things.
I’m grateful we can talk so much about recovery and where we are.
I’m grateful that Becky and I could be out on a little get-away.
I’m grateful for BNI and how many cool things I’ve won due to giving referrals.
I’m grateful Beck and I have enjoyed our time together her and there’s no contention – this is such a blessing of recovery.
I’m grateful that our family has health and strength.
I’m grateful that my career is going pretty well and that I’m making progress in the right areas.
I’m grateful that tomorrow is a new day where I can work on recovery again.
I’m grateful that tomorrow I will get to see the kids again – I’ve missed them even though it’s only been a couple days.
Hasta manana!
Nate
